Which is the right compressor for me?
Sizing a compressor is the most important part of the journey. Too small, and the machine will not perform as desired and you may encounter issues with your equipment. Too large and you could be paying more in energy than is necessary by powering larger motors.
The key thing to know when sizing a compressor is your air demand (the working pressure you need and the air flow at that pressure).
Once you have this information (most equipment manufacturers will advise you of the compressed air requirement needed to operate), then it is advised to allow an additional 20% of flow. The reason for this is to allow for air lost via leaks across your pipework system which connect the compressor to your equipment.
When you have your working pressure and flow +20% you can look at the sales brochures which are downloadable from either the product page or our download section and see which model best suits your needs.

What is HTM2022?
HTM2022 was first introduced in 1996 as an industry standard for the dental industry. A revised supplement was made in 2003. For dental work being undertaken on government owned land, NHS hospitals, Army/Navy/RAF bases for example, HTM2022 is the standard they must meet, however for the rest of the dental industry HTM2022 is not mandatory and is used more of a guideline to the standards you should aspire to.
Practices which elect to conform to this standard of air quality can expect to see an increased lifespan of their equipment and hand pieces as well as improved patients health compared to those still using outdated oil lubricated compressors with inadequate drying and filtration.
For compressed air to meet HTM2022 standards it must:
It is always advised that you consult with your local dental engineer on the best solution if you are thinking of installing a HTM2022 compliant system.
